A proposal to shore up Canada’s aging fleet of CF-18 fighter jets with used models from Australia could work, defence experts said Wednesday, but a better option would be to simply move ahead on permanent replacements as soon as possible. Earlier this week, the government confirmed publicly that it is looking into buying an undisclosed number of Australian F/A-18 jets and “associated equipment” to fill what Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan has called a “capability gap” that will open as Canada’s CF-18s enter their fourth decade of service.
In order of appearance, fighter jets from Egypt, Morocco, Australia, and France participate in The Advanced Tactical Leadership Course, hosted twice a year by the U.S. Air Warfare Center in the United Arab Emirates. The course aims to qualify students as air warfare mission commanders and teach them how to operate with other nation's aircraft. Filmed November 11, 2016. Film Credits: SSgt Patrick Cole
This is a fictional dramatization only and is not happening in fact. It is the work of a team of talented professionals and is not created or broadcast by the BBC. Our thanks to the many people who have contributed, and who have allowed their material to be used in this production. The purpose of this video is to highlight the terrible reality of nuclear conflict, and to illustrate how quickly it can happen and how utterly unprepared we all are for such a scenario. Our future lies in the decisions of unelected powerbrokers who have our lives, and those of our families, in their hands. We hope that global conflict can be resolved without the insanity of nuclear war ever happening.

Quite scary, air-raid sirens started to go off shortly after the video ended but they only lasted for a minute or so. I wonder why these pilots were behaving this way? Video taken from Bowen shoreline (North Australia). #Russia #Military #Jets #Putin #AirForce #ISIS

DEFENCE Minister Kevin Andrews says Australian aircraft have dropped bombs on ISIS targets in Syria for the first time. Mr Andrews confirmed the mission, that occurred two days ago, this morning. “An Australian hornet fighter aircraft destroyed a Daesh armoured personnel carrier with a precision guided missile,” Mr Andrews said. “This is part of our logical extension in the fight against Daesh to operate not just over northern Iraq but also to operate over eastern Syria in order to degrade and destroy the Daesh forces.” News of the incident first broke with a statement issued by the Combined Joint Task Force office in control of Operation Inherent Resolve — the allied bombing campaign against ISIS in Syria and Iraq. It also comes as reports emerge that Russia is rapidly renovating an old S...

The Royal Australian Air Force is planning to receive the MQ-4C UAV to improve border security and to stop boat people and people smugglers. The Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) under development for the United States Navy as a surveillance aircraft. In tandem with its associated ground control station, it is considered an unmanned aircraft system (UAS). Developed under the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance (BAMS) program, the system is intended to provide real-time intelligence, reconnaissance missions (ISR) over vast ocean and coastal regions, continuous maritime surveillance, as well as search and rescue missions, for the U.S. Navy, and to complement the Boeing P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, but the equipment to link the two platforms is current...
